Ever heard this name? I bet not… Ever read his work? I bet you have without even realizing it. Perrault is named one of France’s most influential children’s writers for his unforgettable works that all should recognize.  Charles Perrault is an award winning author for his Folktales and Fantasy. His most Famous and popular tales are, Le Petit Chaperon rouge (Little Red Riding Hood), Cendrillon (Cinderella), Le Chat Botté (Puss in Boots) and La Barbe bleue (Bluebeard). A good number of these were rewritten by The Brothers Grimm after his death and now have become movies, plays, opera’s and so much more with the advancement of technology. Perrault began writing Epic Poetry in 1686 devoting himself to Christianity.  Around the year of 1695, Charles decided to devote his time to his children. Following this he published Tales and Stories of the Past with Morals (Histoires ou Contes du Temps passé) subtitled Tales of Mother Goose (Les Contes de ma Mère l’Oye... Does this man seem familiar to you now? If not go pick up the tales of mother goose so many have been read as a child. With knowledge that these tales originated in the great and beautiful France enjoy the pages of interesting Fantasy.
